Could building floating homes be the answer to sea level rise? I've always believed that Global warming is going to happen, but that we'd develop technology solutions to combat the effects of the change. Here's one response to the challenge - a home that can literally float away as the water rises.
I think it's an interesting concept, but there are definitely challenges to running a floating home. While this is being developed to be able to operate off-grid, it's probably more practical to have an option to connect to city water/sewer/electric, similar to a mobile home. Also, while it would be fun to visit a home that is only accessible via boat, after a few days of novelty most people will want to be able to exit the property in more conventional ways. Therefore it makes sense to make a floating pathway/road to connect these properties.
These houses definitely look modern, but I think they'd benefit from a slash of color.
Would you be willing to live in a house like this? Would you rent one for a vacation?

"No one goes above and beyond like Prime Den. Hired them to sell my apt in Sobe, in a very difficult building, in a tough market. Plus, they went above and beyond by dealing with the City Building Dept to close out outstanding permits, the condo assoc had in my name, in order to close the deal on time. They got me the highest price per square foot in the history of the building, something astonishing. Never looking at their own commissions, always looking at how to best close the deal for the client, they guided me on listing my apt, negotiating a closing price, and closing the deal."
